Well, updating didn't go as well as I planned but i have much more free time now that swimming is over.
This semester my classes are a bit different. I'm taking Chemistry, Calculus, Creative Writing, 1960's American Culture and French. Chemistry was going fine until recently and I have no idea what we are talking about now. I have our second test on monday...oh shoot...better get on that. Calculus is DUMB, I'm so frustrated with the fact that I have to take that class to be a vet. "Oh kitty your paw is bleeding? Hold on, let me find the double derivative of this function to see if the graph is concave up or down..." No. Good thing I have a really good tutor or I would be so lost. Creative writing is ridiculous as well. Its so boring, I have to keep telling myself that I'd rather have a boring class than a hard class but we introduced ourselves for the first couple WEEKS. Oh man, and i just bought the book for the class yesterday because he never assigned anything. My American Culture class is probably the coolest though. We're learning about civil rights and different ethnic group's fights for rights and the vietnam war, its very interesting. Then french is french...snooty french teachers who constantly complain about American students being rude (for yawning, wearing coats, hats, saying "what?" instead of "excuse me?" etc)
One thing that has definitely been a highlight lately is that I just sealed the deal on getting a house next year! I'm going to be living with my friend Heidi (who i was really close with in high school, she swam) and Heidi's suite mate this year, Dana. I'm SO EXCITED. Just every time i have a complaint in my head about living in the dorms, i just think about my house next year and get super excited. I wish furniture and decoration shopping wasn't such a hunt, though. Its going to be fun, I definitely have a bit of my mom's knack for decorating rooms, and I'm excited. AND my cat is going to be living with me :) Thats going to make me so happy. Its $25 a month to keep her, which i think is kinda a rip off but i need her. I really want a ball python and if i dont have to pay monthly for that I might get one of those too because my dad wont "let me have one in his house"
So...How did your first season of swimming go?
Well, it was hard. Very very very hard. But now that i dont have it, i wish i did. But i wish the practices were easier and we didnt have meets haha. I wasnt really thrilled with my end of the season swims (which were supposed to be the best) but i hear that happens to a lot of freshman and that it will get better. I've only been without swimming for 3 days now and I already feel bloated and bored. I was going to go running today, but it snowed >.<
As for being a "normal college student" I'm already hating it. Now i know why people watch full seasons of tv shows in days and play video games so much. Im going crazy. I need to do something to schedule myself instead of putting off all my homework for tomorrow...good thing spring training starts in 3 weeks!
Well, i dont really know what else to say...if you have questions about something i can add it!
